Reporting to the Wellness Lead, this position is responsible for providing comprehensive culturally based care and support in the areas of mental wellness, addictions, trauma, sexual abuse, and violence for Indigenous youth. The cultural worker works closely with the wellness co-ordinator, wellness mentors, wellness manager, clinical counsellors, and medical professionals to support the delivery of a range of holistic, culturally rooted, trauma informed programming and services. The ideal candidate must be passionate about promoting traditional cultural teachings and practices, fostering supportive relationships within the community, and actively contributing to the well-being of youth.

Our Contracted Residential Care Home is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join their team as a Residential Child/Youth Support Worker, specially focused on providing care and support to First Nation youth. This role will involve working closely with young individuals from First Nations communities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and culturally sensitive environment that promotes growth, healing and empowerment.
The successful applicant will have:
• Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
• Previous experience working with First Nation youth, preferably in a residential or group home setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with the youth
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide trauma-informed care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-orientated mindset
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
• Valid driver’s license
